Apply for Emergency Rental Assistance Screener (Part 1) & HVAT (Part 2) program
This form helps us figure out if you may qualify for one-time help with rent or utilities. It takes a few minutes. Your answers will help us connect you to the right support.
How to apply
-
See if you qualify
We will check your address, income and rent costs to make sure you are eligible for the program. Only residents who live in Seattle, are earning less than half of the average resident and whose rent does not exceed a certain amount per bedroom are eligible.
-
Tell us about your income and household
We’ll ask how many people live with you and your best estimate of your monthly income. You don’t need to upload documents now.
-
Tell us about your housing situation
We’ll ask if you’re at risk of losing your housing soon, like if you got an eviction notice, are being asked to leave, or don’t feel safe where you live.
-
Tell us your contact information
We’ll ask for your name and contact info so someone can follow up about next steps. We’ll also ask for your permission to contact you.
-
What to expect after submitting your responses
At the end of this screener you will be notified about your eligibility. If you are confirmed as likely eligible, you will be asked to answer some more questions about your unique housing situation. These answers will be provided to a community-based organization who will be assigned to work with you on next steps of your benefit application. Typically, eligible households may expect to hear from a provider within five business days. Please note that unfortunately, due to limited funding, not all households who are eligible will ultimately receive assistance through this program.
